The Mara River is most famous for the legendary wildebeest crossing, a dramatic event, which is featured in countless wildlife documentaries. One of Tanzania’s best kept secrets is the fact that nearly half of the Mara River is situated in the North Serengeti versus the Masai Mara’s segment in Kenya. While there are hordes of vehicles just a few miles upriver in the Masai Mara, the Serengeti side is virtually devoid of tourists.
Day 1:
Pick up from Arusha hotel/lodge in the morning heading to Tarangire park just km 120 from Arusha town and about 2 hrs to Tarangire for game drives and pick nick lunch. Tarangire is the famous park as it has a lot of elephants, Zebras, Impalas, Wildebeest, lions, Cheetah and much more. Later head to karatu and overnight at farm house lodge located nearby Ngorongoro gate. (Dinner, breakfast, lunch pack)
Day 2:
After breakfast heading to Serengeti National park which is about 4- hours and km 335 from Arusha. You will pass through the land of the Masai the Ngorongoro known as Eden garden as the animals are living with the Maasai. You will go down to the Serengeti plains slowly game enroute where we arrive in for lunch pack. After paperwork we do the game drives exploring millions of animals includes leopards, Cheetah, Lions, Jackals, elephants, Zebra and much more. Later head to Katikati tented camp for dinner and overnight (dinner, breakfast, packed lunch)
DAY 3:
Today after early breakfast we do leave the central Serengeti heading to the Northern Serengeti for Wildebeest exploring crossing the Mara river. We do the game drive enroute and arrive in mara river for lunch pack where we will wait and exploring the wildebeest crossing the river. The wildebeest are not predicted what time they start to cross the river heading to Kenya. Your guide will use radio call contact with other guides regard the updates when they start to cross. You will continue with the game drives along the mara river until the heads start to cross the river. Later head to Katikati mara tented camp for dinner and overnight. (Dinner, Breakfast, lunch pack)
Day 4:
Today after breakfast we do depart to mara river for game drives and wildebeest exploring when crossing the river, you will continue to do the game drives around mara river and explore the black rhino an many more. Today we have another chance to see the Wildebeest crossing the river heading to masai mara in Kenya. Later after game drives drive back to the camp for dinner and overnight. (Dinner, Breakfast, lunch pack)
Day 5:
After breakfast do depart to Ngorongoro conservation area slowly game enroute as well as packed lunch at pick nick site in the Serengeti. You have optional passing by the Olduvai Gorge or Maasai boma learning a bit about maasai culture, later continue to rhino lodge for dinner and overnight. (Dinner, Breakfast, packed lunch)
Day 6:
Today after early breakfast we do leave the lodge heading to Ngorongoro crater and descend 600mt in the Ngorongoro floor for the game drives. Explore over 2500 species of fauna and flora found in the crater includes the endangered species the black rhino and much more. We enjoy lunch pack into the Ngorongoro picnic site overview hippos pool. After lunch slowly leave the crater and head to Kilimanjaro airport to connect with your flight on board to your next destination.
